France gave postal support to its needy ‘knowledge workers’ with semipostals
As this is being written, the United States Congress is continuing its often acrimonious discussion of many months with regard to extending benefits to the nation’s long-term unemployed.
Regency-Superior auction March 22-23 in St. Louis, Mo.
The two-day Regency-Superior auction during the St. Louis Stamp Expo will include 3,000 lots of United States, British and worldwide stamps and covers, as well as country collections and box lots.
U.S. 8¢ Rotary International stamp infrequent on overseas mail
From Nov. 1, 1953, until the start of the 4¢ first-class rate on Aug. 1, 1958, 3¢ postage was needed to move a letter by surface transportation within the United States, and 8¢ was needed for a letter sent abroad via surface mail.
