  • Nov. 6 Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer postmark in Rudolph, Wis.

The central Wisconsin community of Rudolph celebrated the Nov. 6 issuance of four Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer stamps with a pictorial cancellation and an event.

The official first-day ceremony took place in Washington, D.C., but the town offered a first-day-of-sale pictorial postmark featuring the famous reindeer.

The ceremony took place at the Think Academy, a public charter school in Rudolph.

The town has permanent street signs with an image of the red-nosed reindeer on them, and the local post office offers a pictorial postmark each year in December.

To obtain the new Rudolph first-day-of-sale postmark, which has a 30-day extension, send requests to the following address:

RUDOLPH FIRST DAY OF SALE Station, Postmaster, 1570 Main St., Rudolph, WI 54475-9998, Nov. 6.
