A time of thanksgiving

With Thankgiving Day in the United States just around the corner, stamp collectors can also find a few things to be thankful for.

Most recently, the postmaster general announced that the U.S. Postal Service won't increase the first-class letter rate in 2010, which means the cost of buying those new stamps will hold steady, at least for a while.

In this month's newsletter we celebrate the upcoming holiday with stamps that feature the ingredients for a typical Thanksgiving feast, and provide an advance look at some additional designs that will appear on U.S. stamps next year.

We also have a preview of the next issue of Scott Stamp Monthly, and new features on presidential commemorations, and the humanitarian missionary Father Damien.
