Hot stamps from Iceland — ashes included
Iceland is about to issue a cool set of new stamps on a hot subject: the country's now-famous Eyjafjallajokull volcano. But these stamps do more than just show the volcano — they are printed with actual volcanic ash collected after the historic eruption. This month's newsletter includes a feature about these stamps and others that are manufactured using unusual materials.
You'll also read about a new U.S. stamp planned for August, a recent Linn's trip to a stamp printing plant, and stamps honoring U.S. president James A. Garfield. All that, plus a preview of the next issue of Scott Stamp Monthly.
Happy collecting!
