Bobb-Semple named director of USPS stamp services Dec. 1
By Allen Abel
Lisa Bobb-Semple, a veteran sales and marketing executive, was named director of stamp services for the United States Postal Service on Dec. 1, five and a half months after she assumed that role on a temporary basis.
She succeeds William J. Gicker Jr. as the senior executive in charge of stamp creation, production, promotion, marketing and distribution.
Bobb-Semple, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, has worked for the USPS since 2004.
Before being named acting director of stamp services, she spent almost a decade as manager of sales enablement and communications, and previously led marketing campaigns for Priority Mail and the “If It Fits, It Ships” parcel service.
Bobb-Semple is a native of Antigua and Barbuda and attended the prestigious Havergal College, a private all-girls school in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is also a graduate of the Postal Service’s advanced leadership program.
In a Dec. 1 press release, the Postal Service said Bobb-Semple will be responsible for “the oversight of all aspects of Stamp Services at USPS headquarters, Stamp Fulfillment Services in Kansas City, MO, and the Stamp Distribution Center in Dulles, VA.”
“She is an experienced marketing, sales and strategic planning leader, driving marketing strategies, advertising execution and lead generation programs,” the USPS said.
USPS vice president Steven Monteith, executive vice president and chief customer and marketing officer for the Postal Service, said she “successfully set the direction for and provided oversight for all aspects of the Postal Service’s stamp program” during her tenure as acting director.
“I am thrilled to be appointed as the new Director of Stamp Services,” Bobb-Semple told Linn’s Stamp News.
“I look forward to working with the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee (CSAC), the philatelic community and affinity organizations on the stamp program, as we continue to tell the American story through stamps and drive revenue for the Postal Service,” she said.
