Ralph Lauren has introduced a limited-edition clothing collection inspired by historic United States Postal Service uniforms, the Postal Service announced Nov. 24.

The three-piece wardrobe release coincides with the 250th anniversary of the nation’s postal system in 2025 and was developed with guidance from curators at the National Postal Museum.

The curated collection, known as a wardrobe capsule, includes a double-breasted wool twill coat, a leather satchel and a mesh wool cap. Each piece incorporates details drawn from earlier letter-carrier uniforms and equipment. The USPS said the project highlights the evolution of postal attire and the long-standing role of uniformed employees throughout the agency’s history.

The coat, priced at $1,298, features brass buttons modeled after those used on vintage postal jackets and burgundy cording that reflects design elements seen in mid-20th century uniforms. The cuffs are embroidered with “1775” and “2025” to acknowledge the founding of America’s postal system and the anniversary year being commemorated. A horse-and-rider emblem based on the former Post Office Department seal is stitched onto the shoulder.

The leather satchel is priced at $998 and is embossed with “U.S. Mail.” Its design echoes shapes and proportions of messenger-style bags used by postal workers from the late 1800s through the 1970s. While the bag is a modern product, the Postal Service said its external appearance draws directly from earlier carrier equipment.

The mesh wool cap, priced at $79.50, also carries an embroidered patch of the historic horse-and-rider emblem. The graphic is adapted from imagery used by the Post Office Department before the United States Postal Service was formed in 1971.

According to the USPS, the National Postal Museum provided historical reference material and design input to ensure the pieces reflected authentic postal heritage. Curators supplied examples of original uniforms, insignia and satchels from the museum’s collection. The Postal Service said the collaboration helps highlight the continuity of carrier service and the visual identity associated with the mail.

The Postal Service characterized the collection as an opportunity to recognize the legacy of postal employees at the start of the upcoming anniversary year and noted that the items are inspired by postal history but are not official USPS uniforms.

The USPS has been rolling out a series of initiatives related to its 250th anniversary, including commemorative messaging, public programming and new stamp issues released in July 2025. The Postal Service said the Ralph Lauren capsule is one of several partnerships intended to spotlight postal heritage and to share aspects of its history with a broader audience.

The Postal Service said additional projects tied to the anniversary will continue to be announced.
