Rodriguez de Tembleque appointed to Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee

Susana Rodriguez de Tembleque, an IBM technology executive, has been appointed to the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee, the United States Postal Service announced in a Jan. 23 press release.

Rodriguez de Tembleque currently serves as vice president of design for IBM’s data platform. “In this role, she focuses on crafting a user-friendly experience, ensuring that IBM’s AI data products provide trusted, clear and contextual insights in real time,” the Postal Service said.

Her previous roles at IBM include vice president of design for IBM Research and vice president and executive brand director for IBM Watson, a computer system that can answer questions posed in natural language.

Before coming to IBM, Rodriguez de Tembleque was the creative director of retail at Apple. She was instrumental in developing Today at Apple, an initiative that turned Apple’s stores into welcoming spaces for learning, creativity and connection.

Rodriguez de Tembleque, originally from Madrid, Spain, lives in New York City. She has four children, ages 19 to 25.

According to the USPS, CSAC members “are appointed by the postmaster general to provide expertise in business, history, science, technology, art, education, sports and other areas of public interest.”

Proposals for a stamp subject should be submitted to the committee at least three years before the proposed issue date.

“Each submission should include pertinent historical information and important dates associated with the subject,” the Postal Service said. “Proposals must be in writing and submitted by U.S. Mail. No in-person appeals, phone calls or emails are accepted.”
