Rural New York community offers first postmark of season

Postmark Pursuit by Molly Goad
The first holiday-themed postmark of
the year made its debut in the Nov. 14, 2024, issue of the United States Postal
Service’s Postal Bulletin. This festive “Holiday Station” postmark comes
from Leeds, N.Y., a hamlet nestled in Greene County within the town of
Catskill.
The design highlights the Postal
Service’s role in delivering holiday cheer, featuring a USPS delivery truck
crossing a stone bridge, framed by a festive border of holly leaves and
berries.
Leeds, known for its scenic
landscapes and close proximity to the Catskill Mountains, offers a blend of
natural beauty and historic charm. With its quaint, small-town feel, historic
architecture, and location in the culturally rich Hudson River Valley, Leeds is
an ideal destination for history buffs and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
To obtain the postmark, address your
request to:
THE HOLIDAY Station,
Postmaster, 1155 Main St., Leeds, NY 12451-9998, Nov. 24-Dec. 24.
