Penner confirmed as acting USPS stamp services director
Mary-Anne Penner has been named acting director of stamp services for the United States Postal Service effective April 11.
Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan announced the selection in a memo to postal officers on April 21.
In the announcement, Brennan noted Penner's 31-year postal career, saying it has given Penner a "well-rounded experience with our stamp program from perspectives throughout the organization."
She pointed out that since 1998 Penner has worked at Postal Service headquarters in marketing, operations, business service network and sales.
In addition Penner has worked in stamp services as acting manager of stamp development and manager of integration.
Penner replaces Cindy Tackett, another career postal worker, who is scheduled to retire in May.
