American First Day Cover Society board elects officers for 2026

The American First Day Cover Society announced in a Dec. 30 press release the results of its board of directors’ election for officers for 2026.
The board of directors re-elected Lloyd de Vries as president, Ralph Nafziger as executive vice president, Walter Douglas George as first vice president, Mark Gereb as recording secretary and Eric Wile as treasurer. The board chose Cynthia Scott as its chair.
In addition to these members, the society’s executive committee is composed of the editor of the journal First Days, the executive secretary, the immediate past president, the general counsel and the chairs of the education, sales and membership departments, the press release said.
The press release added that society directors are not compensated nor reimbursed for their travel expenses.
The American First Day Cover Society is the largest not-for-profit first-day cover society in the world, with members in more than a dozen countries. It publishes an award-winning journal, First Days, six times a year; holds fundraising auctions; maintains a YouTube channel; conducts an annual cachetmaking contest; and encourages philatelic exhibiting and writing about FDCs.
