APS seeking chief financial officer
By Linn’s Staff
The American Philatelic Society announced in late November that it is hiring for the position of chief financial officer.
“The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day financial leadership of the organization,” the APS said in a posting about the new position on the society’s website, www.stamps.org/about/employment-opportunities/chief-financial-officer. “This role combines the responsibilities of a traditional comptroller with forward-looking financial analysis.”
According to the position summary, the CFO will oversee financial record-keeping for the APS and take responsibility for financial reporting, cash management and compliance, as well as coordination of audit and investment activities and reporting. The CFO will also interact regularly with the APS board of directors.
The CFO will be responsible for “delivering financial analysis that informs operational and strategic decision-making across all core functions,” the APS said.
“This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-career financial professional with demonstrated success using technology to modernize and streamline financial operations who is ready to step into a results-oriented CFO role,” the APS said.
Interested candidates are asked to submit their resume and cover letter online through the form on the job listing at www.stamps.org/about/employment-opportunities/chief-financial-officer by 5 p.m. Eastern Time on Dec. 5. Applications lacking a cover letter will not be considered.
