Boston 2026 accepting mail art submissions
By Linn’s Staff
Submissions are open for the “Rebellion! International Mail Art Show” taking place during the Boston 2026 World Expo, Boston 2026 public relations chair Thomas Fortunato announced in an Oct. 2 press release.
“Mail art has a long history and includes drawing, printmaking, photography, collage and more,” Fortunato said, “decorating mail pieces in a myriad of ways.”
Those interested in submitting should create a design that relates to the theme of rebellion on an envelope or postcard. Fortunato says that the theme celebrates the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, adding that any medium can be used.
Submissions are due by May 1, 2026, and can be mailed to Rebellion! mail art, 144 Moody St., Building 18, Waltham, MA 02453. Covers will not be returned.
The covers will be displayed at the show as well as online at www.rebellion2026.blogspot.com, where full details on the mail art show can be found.
Examples of mail art can be found on the website of the Zoom Mail Art Group (https://zmagmailartistgroup.com), a community of mail artists who meet monthly on the online video conferencing application Zoom.
Boston 2026 World Expo will take place May 23-30, 2026, at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center.
Show details and instructions to sign up for email updates can be found at www.boston2026.org and via the expo’s Facebook, X and Instagram pages.
