Daily Mail reports Chinese stamp attic find

In a story by Emma Glanfield, the Daily Mail online of the United Kingdom is reporting that 35 Chinese stamps potentially worth hundreds of thousands of pounds were recently discovered in the attic of a Cotswolds property.

Of particular interest is an unbroken block of 19 5-candareen stamps purchased by a missionary in 1882 and preserved in a cigar box.

Stamp dealer Allan M. Grant of Rushstamps purchased the find for £79,000 (approximately $120,000).

According to the Daily Mail article, Laurence Gibson of Daniel F. Kelleher Auctions is working with Grant to sell the stamps in Hong Kong.
