Jeffrey Klinefelter won the annual National Duck Stamp Collectors Society art competition, the society announced in a June 16 press release.

Klinefelter’s painting of a wood duck drake and a hen will be featured on the society’s 2025 cinderella (stamplike label) stamp. Klinefelter, of Etna Green, Ind., previously did the artwork for almost 40 state duck stamps. This is Klinefelter’s first society win.

The stamp will have a first-day-of-sale ceremony at the Great American Stamp Show on Friday, Aug. 15, in Schaumburg, Ill. The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m., and attendance is free. It will be on the show floor next to the United States Postal Service’s booth.

This year will see a format change for the stamp, which will continue to be issued as a pane of 12, but with a new configuration of three rows of four stamps. The stamp will also be perforated. All prior issues were rouletted.

The National Duck Stamp Collectors Society received 13 entries for the competition, and voting was open to all society members.

Michael Kensinger of Altoona, Pa., came in second place with a painting of a hooded merganser, and Diane Ford of Bethesda, Md., came in third with a painting of a pintail.

The society’s 2025 stamp should be available after Aug. 15, the press release said, and it can be ordered along with previous years’ stamps on the society’s website or from duck stamp dealers.

Founded in 1992, the National Duck Stamp Collectors Society issued its first stamp in 2009. Membership in the society is $25 a year and includes a subscription to the quarterly journal Duck Tracks.
