5. Netherlands stamps reflect Dutch connections with the U.S. and New York City: These stamps are part of an annual series highlighting connections between the Netherlands and another country, in this case the United States.

4. 1847 Basel Dove cover highlights Oct. 16-17 Schwarzenbach auction in Zurich: The Basel Dove is the only stamp issued by the canton of Basel in Switzerland, and is one of the many highlights of the auction. 

3. Free program allows creation of customized stamp database: Sesame Database Manager isn’t a new program; it’s been around since 2003. 1. Remote Penrhyn Island and its intriguing postage stamps: The island got its name from the Lady Penrhyn, a British ship built in 1786 as a slaver, but whose first voyage transported convicts to New South Wales.
