Romance is in the air for April cartoon caption contest
U.S. Stamp Notes by John M. Hotchner
Cinderella and Prince Charming are featured on one of the 39¢ stamps (Scott 4026) in the 2006 The Art of Disney: Romance issue (4025-4028).
Given that the British royals, whether living in the United States or the United Kingdom, are much in the news these days, and everyone seems to have an opinion on them, let’s use this stamp for the April cartoon caption contest.
All you need to do is put yourself in the ball gown or fancy uniform and tell me what you think one or the other is saying or thinking. The subject can be royalty, the Disney characters, stamp collecting, politics, how the media treats such people, or any other subject that comes to mind.
There will be two prizes given to the winners: one for the best philatelic line and one for the best nonphilatelic line.
Put your entry (or entries) on a postcard if possible and send it to me, John Hotchner, Cartoon Contest, Box 1125, Falls Church, VA 22041-0125; or email it to jmhstamp@verizon.net. If you send an email, it is essential that you include your postal mailing address.
For each winner, the prize will be a 13-week subscription to Linn’s (a new subscription or an extension). Entries must reach me no later than April 26.
