Saadi reports APS executive director search is 'going well'
At the Westpex show April 25, Wade Saadi gave an update on the American Philatelic Society.
Saadi spoke in his role as immediate past president of the APS.
Among the number of topics touched upon was the ongoing search for a new executive director for the nation's biggest stamp club.
"Our search for the new executive director is going well," Saadi told his attentive audience.
He said that the Moran Company of Leawood, Kan., has been retained to conduct the search.
According to Saadi, Moran should have potential candidates indentified and their resumes ready for the APS search committee's review by June 1.
"We will conduct extensive phone interviews by June 15 and then invite the finalists to Bellefonte for interviews," Saadi said.
Bellefonte, Pa., is home to the American Philatelic Center, headquarters of the APS and the American Philatelic Research Library.
Saadi stated that the objective is to have the new executive director "in place by the end of June or early July."
He was quick to point out that the search could extend beyond the timeline that he discussed.
