Staff changes at APS Internet sales force restructuring
There has been another change in the staff at the American Philatelic Society. Renee Gardner, director of Internet sales, is no longer with the society as of early April.
Gardner was hired by the APS in 1984, and was appointed director of Internet sales in 2000.
APS Executive Director Ken Martin told Linn’s that some restructuring of staff responsibilities is taking place as a result of the vacancy.
Wendy Masorti, the society’s complaint manager, webmaster and information technology coordinator, will take on supervisory responsibilities in the Internet sales area.
An entry level position for an Internet sales processing clerk has been posted on the APS website; the responsibilities are listed as “Scan and process submissions for sale, fill orders, answer customer inquiries by telephone and email.”
Martin said that Masorti is expected to spend about 40 percent of her time in the Internet sales division.
Masorti’s duties as complaint manager will be shifted to the manager of shows and exhibitions, but that position is also currently vacant because of the departure of Dana Guyer, who began her new position as executive director of the American Stamp Dealers Association on March 1.
The APS also has posted openings for a director of education, an editorial associate, and a Stamp Buddy Program assistant.
Martin has been fielding applications and conducting interviews for those openings.
The APS board of directors is also conducting a search for an executive director, with a plan to offer Martin a new position as chief operating officer.
The Internet sales division coordinates sales through the APS stamp store, an online platform for members to buy and sell stamps and philatelic material.
Information about the American Philatelic Society can be found online.
