U.S. Coast Guard first-day ceremony at USCG headquarters in Washington
The official first-day ceremony for the United States Coast Guard commemorative forever stamp will be held Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. at the Douglas A. Munro Headquarters Building, 2703 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE, in Washington, D.C.
Collectors desiring to attend the ceremony should send an RSVP email to nationalevents@usps.gov or call 202-268-3418 before July 21.
The U.S. Postal Service said in a June 23 press release that the RSVP is only to confirm a desire to attend.
Prescreening by the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Coast Guard is required prior to being admitted on the U.S. Coast Guard Base National Capital Region campus, where the Munro Building is located.
When the RSVP is received, additional guidance for the screening process will be sent via email, the Postal Service said.
