U.S. 2024 Love stamp to be issued Jan. 12 in Romance, Ark.
By Charles Snee
The United States Postal Service will kick off its 2024 stamp program Jan. 12 in Romance, Ark., with the issuance of a nondenominated (66¢) Love stamp featuring a stylized image of a soaring bird holding an envelope sealed with a valentine heart in its beak.
On Jan. 21, nine days after the stamp is issued, the first-class letter rate will increase from 66¢ to 68¢.
“The new Love 2024 stamp is a reminder that the sentiments we send are larger than the letters and cards that convey them,” the USPS said in an announcement of the stamp published in the Nov. 30 issue of the Postal Bulletin.
USPS art director Antonio Alcala designed the new Love stamp using an original digital illustration by Katie Kirk, who also illustrated the quartet of Winter Woodland Animals stamps issued Oct. 10 in Woodland, Mich.
Additional details about the 2024 Love stamp will be published in a future issue of Linn’s Stamp News.
