USPS to conduct sports-theme auction
The United States Postal Service will auction “sports themed philatelic products” Feb. 16-26 through its eBay store at www.ebay.com/stamps. Postal Service spokesman Mark Saunders shared news of the auction with Linn’s Feb. 5 and said a press release would be sent Feb. 16.
Additional details were unavailable. Specific information about the material that will be offered was not disclosed.
This is the second auction in five months that the Postal Service has conducted through its presence on the eBay online commerce site.
The first, held Sept. 13-23, offered more than 100 items described as originating from the USPS Postmaster General’s collection, including some U.S. stamp proofs.
