WE Fest VIII to take place at Chicagopex
By Charles Snee
Registration is open for WE Fest VIII, the semiannual series of exhibiting workshops sponsored by the Women Exhibitors organization.
WE Fest VIII will begin two days prior to the 2024 Chicagopex show, which will take place Nov. 22-24 at the Westin Chicago Northwest, 400 Park Blvd., in Itasca, Ill.
The first WE Fest VIII event will be held the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Chicagopex venue. There will be a pizza party as attendees arrive for the show.
Three speakers will give presentations Nov. 21. Bill Schultz will speak on “The Best 33 Hints to Make a Great Exhibit—Foolproof!” Vesma Grinfelds will give a presentation titled “Exhibiting Internationally.” Susan Jones will discuss the research techniques she used to create an exhibit about a cachetmaker and how that research led to other projects.
Women Exhibitors will provide opportunities for socializing and networking throughout WE Fest VIII. A hospitality room will be available for the duration of the show, and a breakfast will take place Nov. 24.
The registration form for WE Fest VIII is available online or by emailing womenexhibitors@gmail.com. Completed forms can be mailed to Carol Edholm, 4404-224th Place SW, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043. Early registration is $75 if received by Oct. 10 or $85 thereafter.
Women Exhibitors was founded at the 2007 Ameristamp show.
According to a flier from the group, “WE serves as a forum for women to discuss and explore issues relating to exhibiting.”
The organization conducts meetings twice yearly. The cost to join is $5 annually, and both men and women are invited to join and participate.
Women Exhibitors is an American Philatelic Society affiliate and is supported by the American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors.
Those interested in further information about Women Exhibitors and WE Fest VIII can visit the AAPE website or contact the organization by email at womenexhibitors@gmail.com.
