Third USPS eBay auction nets $135
With just a couple of days’ notice, the United States Postal Service auctioned football-related philatelic products Aug. 4-10 through its eBay online store at www.ebay.com/stamps.
The auction consisted of six lots. Three sold and brought in $135.
The auction centered around the 1997 Football Coaches stamp issue and the 2003 Early Football Heroes set.
Two lots that did not meet their auction reserves consisted of framed sheets of the two stamp issues. One lot of first-day ceremony programs for the Football Coaches stamps and a “collector set” also did not sell.
The lots that did sell consisted of a 1997 stamp yearbook and Football Coaches ceremony program; a 2003 yearbook and Football Heroes program; and a Football Heroes program, commemorative panel, stamp pane and set of first-day covers.
This is the third auction the Postal Service has conducted through its presence on the eBay online commerce site.
