Anderson stamp March 13 in Pennsylvania
A United States 70¢ stamp honoring C. Alfred “Chief” Anderson will be issued March 13.
The stamp ceremony is planned for 1 p.m. in McPherson Hall at Bryn Mawr College, 101 N. Merion Ave., Bryn Mawr, Pa. Bryn Mawr is Anderson’s birthplace.
The stamp is being issued to meet the new 2-ounce first-class letter rate in effect Jan. 26.
The stamp is part of the Distinguished Americans definitive series that started in 2011 with an 84¢ stamp honoring Oveta Culp Hobby (Scott 4510).
