Ferns stamps to be 49¢
The U.S. Postal Service has flip-flopped on the denomination of the Ferns coil stamps.
The Ferns coil stamps to be issued Jan. 27 will be denominated at 49¢, the new first-class letter rate.
In early January, postal officials indicated the stamps would carry a forever denomination, but that decision has been changed. USPS spokesman Roy Betts contacted Linn’s on Jan. 17 to share the updated information.
The five 49¢ Ferns stamps are being issued in coils of 3,000 and coils of 10,000.
The stamps are designed for use by mass mailers that use machines to affix stamps to envelopes.
