New global forever stamp unveiled

The preliminary design for the United States nondenominated ($1.15) Sea Surface Temperatures global forever stamp.
The design of the round United States nondenominated ($1.15) Sea Surface Temperatures global forever stamp was revealed Jan. 22. The issue date and location were not announced by the U.S. Postal Service. The stamp pays the new international first-class letter rate effective Jan. 26. It is sold in panes of 10.
“The image is one frame in a 1,460-frame animation created from the output of a computer model of Earth’s climate by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory,” the Postal Service reports.
The brirght colors represent variations in sea surface temperatures. USPS art director William J. Gicker designed the stamp.
