APS board continues search for new executive director
The search for a new American Philatelic Society executive director is ongoing, according to APS board member and immediate past president Wade E. Saadi.
“We interviewed some candidates over the last couple of days,” Saadi told Linn’s July 2, “and we’ve decided to continue our search.”
The APS board voted in late January to look for a new executive director, with the intent to grow the membership, improve member services and “address the electronic age,” according to current president Stephen Reinhard, citing concerns over a continued annual net loss of around 1,000 APS members.
The board reached its decision following a recommendation of the society’s Secure the Future Committee.
The current APS executive director, Ken Martin, has been offered the position of chief operating officer for the society.
