Cipolla is new Philatelic Foundation trustee
The Philatelic Foundation announced March 20 that Roland H. Cipolla II became a trustee in the fall.
Cipolla has been active in the philatelic community since 1974 and an exhibitor since 1979.
In 2009, he won the American Philatelic Society Champion of Champions award. Currently, he focuses his attention on American printed mail matter, as well as the life and business of expressman William F. Harnden.
Cipolla has published several articles about the United States 1851 1¢ stamp and printed matter mails.
In 2002, Cipolla became an art dealer with a focus on native American artifacts and American documents.
The Foundation has 12 trustees, of which four represent dealers and auction houses, and eight are strictly collectors.
The Foundation is a nonprofit educational institution chartered in 1945 to encourage and advance philately.
The Foundation engages in a broad range of educational activities, including the expertization and authentication of rare stamps and covers, and the development of educational projects.
