Luxembourg announces 2015 program
Luxembourg’s stamp program for 2015 will include two commemorative issues related to postage stamps.
The first, on March 3, will honor the 125th anniversary of organized philately. The second, on Sept. 22, will mark the 175th anniversary of the world’s first postage stamp, Great Britain’s Penny Black, issued May 6, 1840.
Other events to be commemorated on Luxembourg’s 2015 stamps will include the 15th anniversary of Grand Duke Henri’s accession to the throne, the 25th anniversaries of architects and palliative care associations, the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, and the 200th anniversary of the creation of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Other stamps will feature the European Union Council, notable people, toys, natural parks, vegetables, old cars and Christmas.
