2014-date Poinsettia returns to sale at USPS fulfillment center

Collectors can once again place orders for the 2014-date United States Poinsettia special forever stamp issued Aug. 21.
The 2014-date United States nondenominated (49¢) Poinsettia special forever stamp (Scott 4816b) has been returned to sale at Stamp Fulfillment Services after selling out Sept. 30.
The stamp was issued Aug. 21 and the USPS item number for the booklet is 688645.
The Stamp Fulfillment Services facility in Kansas City, Mo., is the primary mail-order division of the United States Postal Service.
USPS spokesman Mark Saunders told Linn’s Oct. 31 that “Consumers may purchase via USPS.com or by calling the 800-STAMP24 number and ordering via the USA Philatelic catalog.”
The 2014-date variety was not distributed to post offices.
Of the 8 million booklets (160 million stamps) of 2014-date Poinsettia stamps produced, 60,000 booklets were initially sent to Stamp Fulfillment Services.
A large part of the press run was shipped to American Bank Note Co. for distribution to retail businesses selling stamps to their customers.
Linn’s learned that after the sellout at the service center, additional stock was sent to the Kansas City facility to re-establish an inventory for sale to collectors.
