Postal Updates
Dutch postage rate increase on Jan. 1
The Netherlands’ PostNL announced Oct. 7 that it would raise postage rates Jan. 1, 2015.
The new rates include €0.69 for domestic letters, up from €0.64; and €1.15 for international letters, up from €1.05.
PostNL reports that business rates will also increase, and that the basic rate for sending a package will not change.
In announcing the new rates, PostNL said that they are needed to offset the decline in mail volume due to increased use of electronic communications.
