New Purple Heart stamp variety in October

The nondenominated (49¢) Purple Heart forever stamp (Scott 4704) issued Sept. 4, 2012. A new 2014-date version is planned for issuance in October.
A new variety of the United States Purple Heart forever stamp will be issued in October. The stamp will have a 2014 year date inscription.
Postal Service spokesman Mark Saunders told Linn’s that CCL Label will manufacture the new stamp. He declined to disclose the issue date or city for the new variety.
The current version of the Purple Heart stamp (Scott 4704) was issued Sept. 4, 2012. It was produced by security printer Avery Dennison in a pane of 20.
Avery Dennison’s stamp printing division was acquired by CCL Label in 2013.
The medal pictured on the stamp was awarded during World War II to First Lieutenant Arthur J. Rubin (1917-78) of Bronx, N.Y. It was photographed by Ira Wexler of Maryland.
