Denmark opens its 1,000th post office
With e-commerce on the rise in Denmark, the country's 1,000th post office just opened in Frederiksberg, within the nation's capital, Copenhagen.
According to an April 23 press release from PostNord AB, the Swedish company that operates mail delivery in Sweden and Denmark, more than 225 new post offices have opened in Denmark over the past six years, most of them within grocery stores, gas stations, bookstores and newsstands.
Henning Christensen, the head of PostNord Denmark, noted that to meet the needs of online shoppers, parcel delivery in Denmark has been extended to Saturdays, and more post office openings are planned.
The new post offices offer customers the opportunity to collect and send parcels, to buy stamps and mail letters.
The 1,000th post office opened at the Kvickly grocery store on Falkoner Alle in Frederiksberg.
