Stamps.com reports record quarter in 2014: Morning Report
Linn's Stamp News gives you a quick look at what's going on in the world of stamp-collecting.
1. Stamps.com success
Stamps.com, the U.S. Postal Service-endorsed provider of online postage that has been around since 1999, had a record fourth quarter in 2014, according to a company release.
Total revenue during the fourth quarter was $41.9 million, up 29 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2013.
"We were very pleased with our financial performance in the fourth quarter," Chairman and CEO Ken McBride said. "The 2014 year was a transformational one for Stamps.com with our acquisitions of ShipStation and ShipWorks, which positions us as a leader in the e-commerce shipping market. During the fourth quarter we made great progress integrating our recent acquisitions, and we accelerated our growth, generating record fourth quarter revenue and non-GAAP income. We are excited about our future prospects and look forward to capitalizing on our opportunities in 2015."
2. New mail trucks?
That's right. Bill McAllister reports, "The boxy long-life Grumman trucks that have been the United States Postal Service’s primary residential delivery vehicle for almost 30 years may finally be getting a replacement."
3. Show time
The American Stamp Dealers Association 2015 Midwest Postage Stamp Show is taking place in March outside of Chicago.
