In a Dec. 15 press release, the American Philatelic Society announced that Mark Yucha is the society’s new chief financial officer, and Wendy Masorti has been promoted from director of membership and shows to vice president of operations.

Yucha is immersed in upgrading the society’s administrative software and systems to help the APS better serve its members.

“Mark is a seasoned finance and accounting executive with over 25 years of experience at a diverse range of organizations, from Inside Higher Ed to a film production company,” the APS said.

Yucha graduated from Penn State University, and recently returned to the State College, Pa., area following four years in Cape Town, South Africa.

In her newly created position, Masorti will oversee membership, shows, sales and the American Philatelic Expertizing Service.

“Wendy has been with the APS for more years than she would like us to put in writing and has worn many hats in that time, from webmaster to Sales Director to her most recent position, Director of Membership and Shows,” the APS said. “Her vast institutional knowledge, stemming from her experience in nearly every department of the society, will be an invaluable asset.”

The American Philatelic Society is the nation’s largest organization devoted to stamp collecting. For more information, visit the society’s website, www.stamps.org.
