Banquet menu printed on back of 1948 souvenir sheet
U.S. Stamp Notes by John M. Hotchner
Hooray for the Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library for continuing a practice dating back to the 1930s of stamp clubs and organizations using United States stamps and souvenir sheets as anniversary and banquet souvenirs.
The library’s 2016 souvenir is shown front and back above. The menu for its volunteer recognition dinner is printed on the back of the 1948 Centenary International Philatelic Exhibition (Cipex) souvenir sheet (Scott 948). The library’s board of directors signed the front.
My thanks to John Bloor for sharing examples of this sheet and some of the library’s earlier creations dating back to 2007.
