Bills named chair of AFDCS membership department

The American First Day Cover Society named Trevor Bills the new chair of its membership department and a member of its executive committee, society president Lloyd de Vries said in a Nov. 4 press release.

Bills is a graduate of the American Philatelic Society’s Young Philatelic Leadership Fellowship and member of the APS, the American Topical Association, the Postmark Collectors Club, the Ebony Society of Philatelic Experiences and Reflections, and the American Ceremony Program Society in addition to the American First Day Cover Society.

The 23-year-old holds a master’s degree in public service and administration from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Angelo State University, where he also served as student body president. He has completed an apprenticeship in marketing and logistical operations at a vineyard and lists digital marketing among his skills.

“I am honored to step into the role of membership chair and look forward to contributing to the continued growth of our organization,” Bills said. “I look forward to fostering stronger connections among members and welcoming new individuals to our community.”

The AFDCS membership department oversees recruitment, membership renewals and chapter memberships.

The American First Day Cover Society is the largest not-for-profit first-day-cover society in the world, with members in more than a dozen countries. It publishes an award-winning journal, First Days, six times a year; holds fundraising auctions; is a co-sponsor of the annual Great American Stamp Show; conducts an annual cachetmaking contest; and encourages philatelic exhibiting and writing about FDCs.
