Bloggers share their viewpoints on newly designed Linns.com website

Linn’s Stamp News rolled out its newly designed website at Linns.com the week of May 25.

Among the many new features the site offers are blogs.

Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary defines a blog as “a Web site that contains online personal reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer.”

Blogs on Linns.com offer writers the opportunity to share their perspectives in a much more casual, engaging style than is used in the more formal columns and features that are published in the print Linn’s.

Bloggers are given more freedom to offer opinions that may spark discussions or controversy, within reason of course.

Our intention here at Linn’s and Scott is to offer blogs by the leading voices in the stamp hobby as well as our own editorial staff.

The Scott editors also will offer their views of the stamp market and how activity in the marketplace affects Scott catalog values.

Linn’s New York correspondent Matthew Healey, who diligently and enthusiastically reports on the stamp auction scene for us, will cover the auction scene in a more timely manner through his auction blogs.

Matthew is best known to Linn’s readers for his Auction Roundup that is published in Linn’s monthly magazine.

Linn’s Washington Correspondent Bill McAllister is trying his hand as a blogger. He offers his viewpoint on the United States Postal Service’s search for another “blockbuster” stamp like the 1993 Elvis Presley stamp. Bill says there’s a “whole lot of shaking going on.”

An ace reporter, Bill has spent years covering the behind-the-scenes happenings of the USPS, so you can expect engaging perspectives from this long-time professional journalist.

Matthew’s and Bill’s blogs are live on the Linns.com now, so check them out.

Several new blogs will be added to Linns.com in the coming weeks. Topics will include United States stamps, new issues of the world and the ever-popular Collectors’ Forum, which encourages collectors to exchange information.

As I said in the Editor’s Insights column in the June 15 Linn’s monthly magazine, Amos Media has made a significant investment in the new website platform.

It is designed to evolve into the central place where stamp collectors and dealers exchange information and share their passion for stamp collecting.
