British Locomotives booklet issued
Great Britain’s Royal Mail issued a Classic Locomotives of Wales stamp booklet Sept. 18.
The last item in the Classic Locomotives series that began in 2011, the booklet contains six nondenominated first-class stamps.
Four of the stamps are red Queen Elizabeth II Machin definitives. The other two show the London, Midland and Scottish (LMS) Railway 2F 7720 steam locomotive, circa 1930, from the Classic Locomotives of Wales souvenir sheet issued Feb. 20 (Scott 3268).
International Security Printer printed the booklet by gravure.
In addition to the aforementioned Locomotives of Wales souvenir sheet, the series included souvenir sheets featuring locomotives of England, issued Feb. 1, 2011 (Scott 2865); Scotland, issued March 8, 2012 (3007); and Northern Ireland, issued June 18, 2013 (3197); and booklets (2930, 3111, 3198). A prestige booklet was issued Feb. 20 (BK204).
