Boston 2026 World Expo public relations chair Thomas Fortunato announced in a Jan. 29 press release that Chris Lazaroff, Gregory Shoults and Vesma Grinfelds will serve as regional United States commissioners for the 2026 show.

According to the press release, the three will “handle the transport and care of exhibits before, during and after the show” and serve under the oversight of commissioner general Yamil Kouri and deputy commissioner general Dzintars Grinfelds.

Lazaroff represents the eastern region of the country. A well-established first-day-cover collector and promoter of FDC collecting worldwide, Lazaroff has previously served as U.S. commissioner to the Ibra 2022 exhibition in Germany, the Thailand 2023 World Stamp Championship and Efiro 2023 in Romania. He will be the U.S. commissioner for the upcoming Uruguay 2025 and Liberec 2025 exhibitions.

Shoults is the commissioner for the central region. Shoults’ exhibits on the Third Bureau Washington-Franklin coils have won top honors, and he has been the exhibits chair of the Garfield-Perry March Party stamp show near Cleveland, Ohio, for the past 10 years. He was the U.S. commissioner for Capex 2022 in Toronto and Brasiliana 2013 in Rio de Janeiro.

The western region is represented by Vesma Grinfelds, whose experience as U.S. commissioner includes Korea 2014, New York 2016, Jerusalem 2016, Prague 2018, Indonesia 2022, Ibra 2023, Bangkok 2023, and Mare Balticum 2024 in Estonia. She will be commissioner for PhilaKorea 2025 in September. For many years, Grinfelds has been the director of the annual Youth Champions of Champions competition held at the Great American Stamp Show.

Boston 2026 World Expo will take place May 23-30, 2026, at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center. Show details and instructions to sign up for email updates can be found on the expo’s website and via the expo’s Facebook, X and Instagram pages.
