Florex stamp show set for Dec. 5-6

The 76th Florex stamp show will take place Dec. 5-6 at the Volusia County Fairgrounds’ Tommy Lawrence Arena, 3150 E. New York Ave., DeLand, Fla.

The show is sponsored by the Florida Stamp Dealers’ Association and hosted by the Central Florida Stamp Club.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. A one-time admission fee of $5 covers both days, and parking is free.

The show will feature up to 30 dealers and 150 frames of competitive exhibits. Hourly door prizes will be awarded, and buckets of stamps will be available at a youth area while supplies last.

A show cancel and cacheted (decorated) cover that celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States Postal Service will be available.

As a World Series of Philately show, the multiframe grand award winner will qualify to compete in the American Philatelic Society’s Champion of Champions exhibition at the Boston 2026 World Stamp Expo in Boston, Mass., May 23-30, 2026.

The Florex single-frame grand award winner will be eligible for the single-frame Champion of Champions competition at the Chicagopex show in Itasca, Ill., Nov. 20-22, 2026.

Societies holding meetings at the Florex show will include the Florida Postal History Society, Canal Zone Study Group, American Topical Association, American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors, and the Germany Philatelic Society Chapter No. 23.

Presentations will include an American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors forum on exhibiting hosted by Kenneth Nilsestuen, along with the sessions “Oddities & Novelties, Weird & Unusual Stamps from Around the World” by John Catiller, “Postal History of the United Colonies” with Vernon Morris Jr., and Mike Schumacher’s talk “A Philatelic Look at the 1972 World Chess Championship.”
