'Freedom' exhibit devoted to African American history opens at National Postal Musem: Morning Report

Linn's Stamp News gives you a quick look at what's going on in the world of stamp-collecting.
1. Opening Day
The Smithsonian Institution's National Postal Museum's newest exhibit, Freedom Just Around the Corner, opens today and runs through Sunday.
It is the museum's first exhibit devoted entirely to African American history.
"It highlights letters carried by enslaved Americans, mail sent by and to leaders of the civil rights movement, and original artwork for numerous stamps issued by the United States Postal Service," the museum's website reads.
2. Rejected but not forgotten
They might not have made the cut over the iconic red maple leaf, but a number of rejected Canadian flag designs have found a home with a new stamp series from Canada Post.
3. Admirals at auction
"The ongoing series of auctions offering items from the Brigham collection of Canada will continue with a fourth sale featuring the 1911-31 Admiral issue."
4. Hearing from readers
Columnist John Hotchner continues the "journey into readers’ questions and observations" he began last month in his latest U.S. Stamp Notes piece.
