Jersey Poppy stamps can be planted

This new stamp from Jersey includes a poppy seed.
On May 6, Jersey issued six stamps and a souvenir sheet featuring poppies and commemorating the 100th anniversary of World War I. One of the stamps is shown nearby.
The stamps serve two other purposes as well: raising poppies and raising money for a military and veterans’ charity.
Jersey Post says: “Poppy seeds have been integrated in two of the designs, sealed behind a thin, transparent, bio-degradable plastic cover. The stamps can be used for posting letters as usual but they can also be planted, gradually decomposing as the seeds start to grow, producing the striking red flowers which are so strongly associated with remembrance.”
The two stamps with the poppy seeds, the 46p and 56p values, are being sold in a special packet for £1.50, with 75p of that amount being donated to the Jersey branch of the Royal British Legion.
