Military Postal History Society to meet at Portland stamp show
The Military Postal History Society will conduct its annual convention and membership meeting at the Pipex stamp show to take place May 8-10 in Portland, Ore. The show venue is the Red Lion Hotel on the River at Jantzen Beach, 909 N. Hayden Island Drive, Portland.
Admission to the show and parking are free.
The Military Postal History Society's annual meeting is planned for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. At this meeting, Ed Durbin will give a presentation on World War I American prisoners in Germany. An informal dinner of society members is planned for Friday evening at a nearby restaurant.
The show awards will be announced during the Pipex awards dinner at 6:45 p.m. Saturday.
Other groups meeting at the Pipex show include the Universal Ship Cancellation Society, the Civil Censorship Study Group and the American Society of Polar Philatelists.
A special rate of $99 per night is available at the show hotel. The Red Lion Hotel also offers complementary shuttle service from the Portland International Airport.
