New stamps honoring 150th anniversary of Civil War's end available: Morning Report

1. Civil War stamps released

The Postal Service has concluded its commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War war by issuing two new stamps.

"One stamp depicts the Battle of Five Forks, near Petersburg, Virginia, on April 1, 1865," the USPS website reads. "The other stamp depicts Robert E. Lee’s surrender to Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Court House on April 9."

The stamps were issued in a pane of 12.

2. Brigham collection sale

In Toronto on March 6-7, Brigham Auctions continued its multipart sale of the Canada collection belonging to its owner, Ron Brigham.

Five stamps to be issued May 2 by Canada Post illustrate the theme of love for and responsible care of your pets.
