By Linn’s Staff
The 15 United States nondenominated (73¢) forever commemorative stamps honoring historic battlefields of the American Revolution will be issued April 16 in a pane of 15, the U.S. Postal Service announced March 3.
A first-day ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time at the North Bridge Visitor Center at Minute Man National Historical Park, 174 Liberty St., Concord, Mass.
The ceremony, which will be held outdoors, is free and open to the public. Those desiring to attend the ceremony should register with the USPS.
Judy de Torok, vice president of corporate affairs for the Postal Service, will serve as the dedicating official.
“The pane of 15 stamps memorializes five turning points in the fight for American independence,” the Postal Service said. “Watercolor paintings depicting scenes of five battles appear alongside photographs of sites involved in each battle.”
Additional details about the Battlefields of the American Revolution commemorative stamps will be published in a future issue of Linn’s Stamp News.Connect with Linn’s Stamp News:
