United Nations surcharges 2024 postal stationery

By Linn’s Staff
On July 14 the United Nations Postal Administration will issue a surcharged version of previously issued postal stationery to make up current postal rates in New York.
The UNPA added a surcharge of 5¢ to large postal stationery 73¢ envelopes (Scott U51) issued July 15, 2024, for use from the post office at U.N. headquarters in New York City. The 78¢ denomination matches the United States first-class letter rate that will go into effect July 13.
The 5¢ surcharge appears to the left of the imprinted stamp showing the U.N. emblem in white over an amber background in the upper right corner. A cachet (decorative design) featuring a vintage photograph of the lobby of the United Nations headquarters appears on the left side of the envelope.
