Update on Maya Angelou first-day ceremony

The United States Postal Service will issue the Maya Angelou commemorative April 7 in Washington, D.C.
The first-day ceremony for the Maya Angelou forever stamp will take place April 7 at 11 a.m. at the Warner Theatre, 513 13th St. NW, Washington, D.C.
The United States Postal Service issued a notice March 12 to advise that seating is limited, on a first-come, first-served basis. The doors will open to the public at 9:30 a.m.

The Postal Service also provided public transportation and parking details for those interested in attending:
"The metro train station Metro Center is located on the same block as the Warner and services the Red, Orange, Blue, and Silver Lines. Guests should exit the 12th and F Street entrance.
"There are three parking garages located directly across the street and one within the building:
- PMI Garage #20045, 1220 E Street NW, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week
- PMI Garage #10013, 600 13th Street NW, open Monday through Friday (6 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Saturday (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
- PMI Garage #20094, 500 12th Street NW (within building), open Monday through Friday (7 a.m. to 10 p.m.), Saturday (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.), Sunday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
- Colonial Parking, Garage #403, 1331 F Street NW, open Monday through Friday (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)"
