USPS to continue accepting mail from China and Hong Kong

On Feb. 5, the United States Postal Service said that it would continue to accept packages from China and Hong Kong.

The announcement came one day after the USPS said it would temporarily halt delivery of parcels from the two countries.

The Postal Service’s initial decision to suspend the deliveries came after President Donald Trump issued an executive order that stopped duty-free processing of numerous smaller packages, according to a Feb. 5 updated report from The New York Times.

“Effective February 5, 2025, the Postal Service will continue accepting all international inbound mail and packages from China and Hong Kong Posts,” the USPS told Linn’s Stamp News Feb. 5. “The USPS and Customs and Border Protection are working closely together to implement an efficient collection mechanism for the new China tariffs to ensure the least disruption to package delivery.”
