In their use in the United States, postage due stamps were to be applied to any underpaid mail piece to show the amount collected from the addressee.

The United States Postal Service has announced 14 subjects that will appear on 55 stamps and postal stationery in 2025.

Also this week, a review of blog sites devoted to ships, and a tip to collect an affordable United States 1879 Numeral postage due stamp.

The show is organized by the Florida Stamp Dealers’ Association and the Central Florida Stamp Club.

The 2025 Westpex show will take place April 25-27 at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront Hotel, 1800 Old Bayshore Highway, Burlingame, Calif., near San Francisco.

The best of the entries, one related to philately and one nonphilatelic, will be announced after the contest closes.

The International Philippine Philatelic Society will hold a meeting at the show, as will the Council of Northern California Philatelic Societies.

Also this week, taking a closer look at an innovative delivery service used by TIME magazine, and a tip to collect the set of eight U.S. Silas Wright customs fee stamps.

The color was changed to orange to avoid confusion with the 1¢ Columbian Exposition stamp, which was also blue in color.

The exhibition, titled “Conservation Through the Arts: Celebrating the Federal Duck Stamp,” runs through Feb. 9, 2025.

A ceremony program was produced by Linn’s for the event, and an autograph session took place after the ceremony.
